Dr. Jack Yen

Dr. Jack Yen is a dual-boarded psychiatrist in both general and forensic psychiatry.  He  has maintained a clinical practice for almost 20 years in both public and private mental health settings. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dr. Yen has performed hundreds of psychiatric evaluations on both civil and criminal matters in several jurisdictions. On civil matters, he has provided expert opinions regarding work-related injuries and fitness of duty issues. On criminal matters, Dr. Yen has performed evaluations for courts relating to a wide range of issues, including competency to stand trial, NGI pleas, and ability to waive certain rights.  

Dr. Yen has offered expert testimonies and opinions regarding psychiatric issues in several jurisdictions.  He also testified in a federal case regarding psychiatric correctional care and treatment of inmates. In addition, Dr. Yen serves as a medical director for utilization management company to determine psychiatrically-appropriate treatment.
